Biography:
Meg's goal as the Blended Learning Faculty Fellow is to boost colleagues' confidence and excitement for designing and teaching Seeking Solution courses! Meg brings experience in face-to-face, hybrid, and Ecampus development and instruction of ecosystem science-related courses. She has a particular interest in responsive and interactive approaches to teaching and learning, including collecting and responding to data on student engagement, needs and interests; and developing interactive, collaborative, student-led, and/or place-based learning activities. She loves puzzles, problem-solving, gathering new ideas, and working with teams. She looks forward to leveraging these interests to help colleagues examine, experiment with, and improve their teaching, particularly when it comes to building human connections with and among students, and considering the human experience of the course content and structure.
Meg grew up on an eastern Montana cattle range, earned a B.S. in Environmental Sciences and Ph.D. in Ecology from Duke University, and completed a post-doc at the University of Wyoming before coming to OSU. Since starting at OSU in 2015, she has engaged in a wide variety of CTL and Ecampus professional development activities, and she has previously served the Center for Teaching and Learning as Peer Supporter, Blended Learning Faculty Fellow, and Core Ed Faculty Fellow.
