Peer Review of Hybrid Teaching Guidelines - These guidelines were developed by the OSU Faculty Senate Online Education Committee to serve as a five-step guide to help instructors prepare for peer review of hybrid/blended/flipped courses and to assist peer reviewers. The process relies on review of both the Canvas course site and on classroom observation.
The guidelines may be suited for annual reviews of teaching or for reviews related to promotion and tenure. They are open to customization by academic departments and by individual users.
The guidelines can also be used for a one-hour self-review of a course by completing the checklist in Step 3 (page 6), then filling out the table in Step 4 (page 7) based on a selected week of the course documenting evidence from Canvas as well as from the classroom. Additionally, it is beneficial to reflect on the elements of the Teaching Narrative (see bottom of page 4).
