Dr. Hubler joined Oregon State's University's School of History, Philosophy, and Religion in 2013, where she teaches courses on genocide, human rights, and world history. She manages SHPR's undergraduate programs offered through Ecampus and has developed and taught six Ecampus courses, including intro-level surveys, WIC research seminars, and Honors colloquia. She specializes in creative student-driven assignments, teaching emotionally-difficult subject matter, and facilitating student research projects both in person and online.
Between March 2020 and June 2021, Katherine led a peer support teach to assist CLA and HC faulty transitioning to remote teaching and coordinated a series of workshops and conversations geared toward cultivating and sharing successful pedagogical strategies, fostering inclusive learning spaces, and supporting students across all learning modalities.
Katherine is a first-generation college student originally from rural Southern Oregon. She earned her Ph.D. in History from Boston College and reveled in the bounty of donuts in New England before returning west.
