• New2OSU is open to and optional for all Oregon State University teachers (including those outside the Corvallis campus).
  • CTL accepts applications year-round for participants interested in New2OSU.
  • When registered, participation begins at the start of the proceeding term.
  • Priority will be given to those within their first three years of teaching at Oregon State University.

Before you register, please:

  • Determine your readiness.
  • Consider the time commitment. While there is flexibility and some individuals choose to complete the program at their own pace the program requires:
    • 3 hours per week
    • 30 hours per term
    • 3 terms total (New2OSU is not offered during the summer term. The program stops at the end of Spring term and begins again in the Fall).
    • If you plan to defer a term (i.e. Spring  - due to a heavy teaching load or harvesting season) please let CTL know in advance.
    • Of special note, Term 1 requires participation in Tuesday Teaching + Tech Talks (T4). This workshop series is offered on Tuesdays. You may choose to attend from 10:00-11:50 OR 2:00-3:50. You must be physically present or plan to participate via Zoom (if outside Corvallis) each Tuesday during one of these time options.
  • Share your interest in and information about New2OSU with your supervisor to determine if you can fully commit.
  • While not required, and if available, it is highly recommended you request compensation in terms of time rather than monetary compensation. Each department has varied resources and approaches to possibly providing such compensation. Ideas might include a reduction in research, publications, teaching, clinical hours, etc. Other forms of compensation might include fulfillment of annual service, a stipend, or professional development funds.
  • If you can make the full commitment and have approval to participate, complete and submit the registration.
