Biography:

As the Center for Teaching and Learning Assistant Director of Pedagogical Support and Development, Dr. Clevinger provides pedagogical support and consultation for the new Core Ed curriculum. She serves as a resource for all faculty participating in the Course Adaptation and Design Institute (CADI). She consults with faculty on the use of the Curriculum Inventory Management (CIM) system, assisting faculty to successfully navigate the curriculum proposal process and align their courses with the new Core Ed learning outcomes.

Prior to joining the CTL, Kara taught literature and writing at the University of Oregon, Philadelphia University, Temple University, and here at OSU. She has received multiple awards for her teaching, including Leadership in Teaching First Year Writing, Excellence in Remote Teaching, and an Equity and Inclusion Award in Composition Teaching. She co-authored the University of Oregon's WR 121 OER, and co-developed online and hybrid WR 121-122 for the UO. She served as chair of the UO Senate's Continued Improvement and Evaluation of Teaching Committee.
