Course Design Institute

What?

Course Design Institutes are 2 all-day workshops. They provide an opportunity to design or significantly redesign a course influenced by the three Principles within the OSU Quality Teaching Framework.

You construct a "backwards" outline of your course with aligned objectives assessments, and learning activities considering various design frameworks for meeting the needs of all students. Incorporate varied assessments to support equitable and efficient learning, evaluation, and grading, and design learning activities that engage students in active, authentic, and relevant work. You leave with your course plan, soft syllabus, and a welcome message for your students.

Who?

Anyone can be a course designer! This institute is perfect for instructors who have not received pedagogical training. The institute is suitable for those teaching for the first time or to align existing courses with the latest evidence-based practices.
