AI in Teaching and Learning

The Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL) supports an ethic of transparency around the use of generative AI in teaching and learning. We are here to provide resources and help you make informed decisions about the role of AI in your courses.

Support for AI in Teaching and Learning

The CTL has created a hub of resources that we update regularly: the AI in Teaching and Learning at OSU Canvas site. Whether you are ready to dive in or just beginning to consider, we invite you to explore CTL's AI resources.

AI Guidance for Instructional Faculty:

  • Syllabus Statement: We recommend that you include a syllabus statement on AI in your courses. See  guidance on syllabus statements and examples. Consult with your College for any additional guidance.

  • Experiment with Generative AI: You and your students should experiment with various generative AI technologies. We suggest Microsoft Copilot, an OSU data protected tool.

  • Student Conduct & AI Detection: Review guidance from OSU Student Conduct on AI. Be aware of the bias and inaccuracy of AI detection tools.

  • Request AI Support: Schedule a consultation with our CTL team today! We can help craft syllabus statements, brainstorm ideas for incorporating AI into your course assignments, and discuss possibilities for mitigating unauthorized AI usage in your courses.

  • AI Teaching and Learning Resources: Review our curated list of AI resources to learn about AI and its applications in education. See upcoming events and past recordings.

  • Get Involved in AI Discussions @ OSU: Attend AI in teaching and learning events, including CTL workshops, drop-in sessions, faculty learning communities, and more!
